There are painful thoughts about something(s) from you past that are either consciously or subconsciously still weighing on your mind. The Three of Swords is a card of loss, pain, sorrow, grief, and bereavement. 
These feelings can be in regards to many different life situations. Sometimes the Three of Swords even points to a "Love Triangle"!
Properly processed, this can also be cathartic, and lead to transformation. A heart is pierced by three sword. Swords represent the Air Element in Tarot; thoughts and ideas. So, even though we are talking about emotions, this is not a "cups card"....
These are thoughts, and this is happening in your mind! The three swords "cross", potentially indicating thoughts, or ideas, that aren't in alignment or that are at cross-purposes. 
The Page of Swords is the only Page that doesn't "look at" the object in his hands (sword). He is unwilling or unable to face these thoughts. He looks to the Past, and appears aloof, like he is above all this, pretending not to care.
Meanwhile, "in the Now", we have the Queen of Wands. She has a love of life, and is strong-willed, dynamic, has a strong desire for experience, and is independent...
She looks to the Future, and wants to progress towards it. She embodies the expression of passion and being in charge! ...but this is currently an illusion.
You "want" to be the Queen of Wands, but it's your subconscious that's really in charge! 
We have patterns (habits) stored in our subconscious that ultimately direct our decisions and actions...
We think we are consciously "deciding" as we move through our day, and lives. But 98% of our daily lives are "pre-programmed"! We take the same route to work, stop at the same Starbucks, order our same caramel macchiato.... 
This is meant to be a "good thing"! Imagine if you had to consciously remember how to tie your shoe laces every day, drive your car, or even breathe! This part of us is very ancient, designed to help us survive...
We had to remember where food and water were located, what places to avoid, detect potential dangers, and so on. Anything we do over and over again becomes a "habit" (programming in our subconscious), but the subconscious part of our mind doesn't know the difference between a "good" habit and a "bad" habit.
So, in our modern lives, we often create "patterns" that are not useful to us. This includes thoughts (that we may or may not be aware of) about past events, especially negative ones, that still have an emotional charge.
To truly be "independent", follow our passions, achieve abundance & prosperity, and actually "call the shots" in our lives (the Queen of Wands), we have to secure our independence from the past!
The Energy from the DAY today is the Nine-Vibration, which means it's a great day to work on "letting go" of what no longer serves us, including attachments/thoughts rooted in the past....
The whole DATE reduces to the Four-Vibration of Structure. The good news is we can create new structures in our subconscious (mind, brain)! ....New patterns!
A great start is to put ourselves in the shoes of the Queen of Wands! Embody her independence, passion for life, and - most importantly - look to the Future! Where is your Focus? Do you have a Plan? Do you practice Micro- Mindful Moments?
Focusing on the future and what we want to Manifest in our lives, can create these "new structures" in our subconscious (patterns, neural pathways). They can be reinforced by techniques from NLP (Neuro-Linguistics), Hypnosis, and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques).
These same modalities can also give you "freedom" from (eliminate) the negative emotions, habits, and thought-patterns I have been discussing!
A lot of this can be done on your own. YouTube has a wealth of information and teachings on these powerful modalities, but don't be afraid to consult a professional practitioner, should you feel you need more help!
